(COLUMBIA, MO) - City of Columbia Public Works crews will be reporting for duty at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, to respond to an anticipated winter weather event. Their initial focus will be on pretreating bridges, curves and intersections, which are the areas most susceptible to slickness.

Pavement temperatures are expected to remain above freezing for a great deal of the event, preventing significant accumulations. The primary concern will be slushy conditions for the Tuesday morning commute. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds, refrain from tailgating and allow extra travel time for your trip.

Public Works will have crews available throughout the night to monitor road conditions and adjust operational plans in case of worsening conditions. As winter weather can be unpredictable, residents are encouraged to closely monitor the forecast and changing road conditions throughout the mid-Missour
i area.

Additional updates will be made on the City's social media pages.
