<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Traffic study to be conducted on Forum Boulevard Nov. 16-17 as part of road improvement project</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Engineering Surveys & Services, a consultant for the City of Columbia Public Works department, has set up temporary traffic counting cameras and is scheduled to complete a traffic study on Forum Boulevard Nov. 16-17, 2022, weather permitting.<br /><br />The cameras will point at various locations along Forum Boulevard for several days at a time during the survey period. Cameras are only for the purposes of conducting a traffic study and there will be no permanent retention of the data collected by the contractor or by Public Works.<br /><br />The traffic study is one of the first steps of the Forum Boulevard improvement project, which will include improvements to Forum Boulevard between Chapel Hill Road and Woodrail Avenue. This project was included as part of voter-approved projects from the Capital Improvement Sales Tax Extension ballot initiative of August 2015. The total budget for this pro
 ject is $12,700,000.<br /><br />Improvements will include, but are not limited to, the following:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Widening of Forum Boulevard with an additional driving lane in each direction and turn lanes where needed.</li>
<li>Reconstructing and widening the bridge over Hinkson Creek.</li>
<li>Widening the box culvert over the MKT trail.</li>
<li>Constructing sidewalks and bike lanes.</li>
</ul>
The construction of the improvements is scheduled to begin in summer 2025. Residents with questions or concerns about the project are welcome to email the City of Columbia Public Works department at PubW@CoMo.gov for more information.</div>
