<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia and the City of Columbia New Century Fund are currently accepting nominations for the 2023 Howard B. Lang Jr. Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. <br /><br />The award program recognizes an outstanding volunteer for his or her contribution to the City.  <br /><br />Howard Lang Jr. was mayor of Columbia from 1953-1957 and made a positive difference for our City. Leo Hill, city manager from 1952-1958, created the award to honor Lang. <br /><br />Nominees may have filled any volunteer role that serves the City of Columbia through its departments, programs or services, such as a City board, commission or task force member; an elected official; or volunteer with any of Columbia's city departments. <br /><br />The recipient will be chosen based on impact, initiative and length of service. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 24.<br /><br />T
 he selected honoree will be awarded a plaque along with a $1,000 check made to the individual or an organization of the recipient's choice.<br /><br />An online nomination form can be found at <a href="https://www.como.gov/CMS/WebForms/form.php?formid=416">CoMo.gov</a>.<br /><br />If you wish to submit a paper copy, please download a <a href="https://www.como.gov/lang-award/">PDF version</a> of the nomination form, fill it out and return it to the address listed on the form.</div>
