<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Monday, April 17 at 7 a.m., Christensen Construction Co., contractor for Public Works, will close East Walnut Street between the intersections of Ripley Street and North William Street as part of the ongoing Walnut Street Resurfacing Project.<br /><br />This section of East Walnut Street will be closed to allow for the completion of full-depth pavement repairs. These repairs will help to restore the structural integrity of East Walnut Street, extending its service life.<br /><br />East Walnut Street between Ripley Street and North William Street is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m., Friday, April 28, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to avoid East Walnut Street between College Avenue and Old Highway 63 North when possible and to use alternate routes such as East Broadway.<br /><br />North William Street and Ripley Street will remain open to northbound and southbound traffic.<br /><br
/>The previously announced closure on East Walnut Street between North Williams Street and Old Highway 63 North is expected to reopen Friday, April 21, earlier than expected.
