<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">City of Columbia Housing Programs Division announces request for applications for 2024 Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia anticipates receiving approximately $1 million in FY 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $600,000 in FY 2024 HOME funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development available during 2024. The City also estimates reallocating up to $820,000 in carry-over CDBG funds and up to $370,000 in carry-over HOME funds. These funds will be provided for CDBG and HOME eligible activities identified in the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. An informational session for any interested individuals or organizations was held in City of Columbia, City Hall, 701 E. Broadway on March 8, 2023. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Request for Proposal Period opens April 19, 2023. The Deadline for the required letter of intent is April 28, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. The Deadline for proposals is May 10, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.</span></p>
<p><strong>CDBG Funding</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">CDBG funds primarily benefit low to moderate income households, and can be used for affordable housing, economic development, community facilities and neighborhood infrastructure. </span></p>
<p><strong>HOME Funding</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Eligible HOME activities include: new construction for homeownership, or for rental occupancy by households with special needs, tenant-based rental assistance, and rehabilitation for homeownership or rental occupancy. All HOME assisted housing must benefit lower income households. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Staff will review project eligibility; the Housing and Community Development Commission (HCDC) will review criteria, application submission procedures, and project implementation requirements. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Applications are available at the Housing Programs Division office, 500 E. Walnut, Suite 108.
