<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police searching for one suspect, arrest another in connection to homicide in the 900 block of East Business Loop, May 7</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia Police are actively searching for Justin Lamarr Simpson, 40, of Columbia, for second-degree murder in connection to a homicide that occurred May 7 in the 900 block of East Business Loop.<br /><br />CPD has arrested Samuel Lee Moss Jr., 28, of Columbia, on May 10 for his involvement in this incident. Mr. Moss was arrested for second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and being a felon in possession of a firearm.<br /><br />Columbia Police also arrested Kimo Deandre Spivey, 33, of Columbia, on May 7 for his involvement in this incident. Mr. Spivey was arrested for second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and armed criminal action.<br /><br />Steven Wayne Grimes, 25, of Columbia, was also arrested on May 7 for his involvement in this incident. He was arrested for tampering with evidence and unlawful use of a weapon. <br /><br
/>On May 7 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Columbia Police responded to the 900 block of East Business Loop for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a total of five individuals who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.<br /><br />One adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries. He was later identified as Melvin Hooker III, 26, of Columbia.<br /><br />The other four individuals, including Mr. Spivey, were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Through their investigation, CPD detectives identified Mr. Spivey as a suspect and developed probable cause for his arrest. He was arrested following his release from the hospital and has been remanded to the custody of the Boone County Jail.<br /><br />This is an ongoing investigation.
