(COLUMBIA, MO) -
City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility residential curbside customers are scheduled to begin receiving refuse and recycling bag vouchers in the mail the week of June 5.

In the June packet, customers will receive one voucher for black refuse bags and one voucher for blue recycling bags.

City-provided refuse bags are not required for residential curbside collection. Limited supplies of refuse bags remain and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be the final distribution of refuse bag vouchers.

Because of ongoing staff shortages within the Solid Waste Utility, the City of Columbia has temporarily suspended the collection of residential curbside recycling. Residential curbside recycling will resume no sooner than June 20.

Customers who do not receive vouchers by June 16 should contact the City's bag contractor, WasteZero, at 1.800.866.3954 or customerservice@wastezero.com. Vouchers are mailed to the service address, regardless of who is paying for the utilities.

The vouchers are perforated, and customers are asked to separate them and use only as needed. The single-use vouchers are tracked by bar code and cannot be duplicated.

Customers needing additional blue recycling bags should call WasteZero, and a voucher will be mailed free of charge.

While supplies last, black bag vouchers can be redeemed at the following Columbia locations:
