(COLUMBIA, MO) - Beginning Friday, June 9, Capital Paving, contractors for the City of Columbia Public Works department, are scheduled to perform mill and overlay pavement maintenance on the following City streets:

Kohler Circle between Talent Drive and the end of the street

Talent Drive between Chapel Hill Road and Kohler Circle

The mill and overlay process involves milling off the top of the pavement surface and then applying a layer of asphalt. This process provides a smooth driving surface that typically lasts for an additional six to 20 years with ongoing treatments. Crews plan to perform the milling work beginning June 9 and should be able to begin applying asphalt beginning June 13.

Crews plan to work daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but will not begin work until "no parking" signs have been posted at least 24 hours in advance. Please refrain from parking your vehicles on signed streets during working hours.

Temporary lane closures will be required. Traffic control signs and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through work zones as needed. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution in work zones and find alternate routes if possible.

Maintenance on the listed streets is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, June 22, at 7 p.m., weather permitting.
