<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Show Me The Heat: Heat Mapping 2022 campaign results are available at <a href="https://comoclimateaction.org/category/show-me-the-heat">CoMoClimateAction.Org</a>. The Show Me The Heat webpage contains an ArcGIS StoryMap that explains the project in detail and includes several interactive maps for people to explore the heat data. <br /><br />Show Me The Heat, a community science project, commenced Aug. 6, 2022, where 35 volunteers drove six predetermined routes across the City of Columbia to collect urban heat data. Over 30,000 data points were collected and analyzed. This neighborhood-scale analysis reveals the location of urban heat islands in Columbia. <br /><br />"Some people are just trying to survive, and urban heat is not on the forefront of their mind, but it still affects them," said Corrina McClee, the new community resilience organizer for the City of Columbia.&nbs
 p;<br /><br />Using the heat distribution maps and an equity-based process, Corrina and other Sustainability staff are beginning to connect with people living in urban heat islands and starting conversations to build awareness of and preparing the community against urban heat. </div>
