<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Monday, July 10, Capital Paving, contractors for the City of Columbia Public Works department, are scheduled to perform overnight mill and overlay pavement maintenance on the following downtown streets at the listed dates and times:<br /><br />Monday, July 10 at 7 p.m. - Tuesday, July 11 at 7 a.m.<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>East Walnut Street from North Garth Avenue to North Providence Road</li>
<li>Locust Street from South College Avenue to Hitt Street</li>
</ul>
Tuesday, July 11 at 7 p.m. - Wednesday, July 12 at 7 a.m.<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>East Broadway from Garth Avenue to Providence Road</li>
</ul>
Wednesday, July 12 at 7 p.m. - Thursday, July 13 at 7 a.m.<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>East Broadway from Providence Road to Seventh Street</li>
</ul>
Thursday, July 13 at 7 p.m. - Friday, July 14 at 7 a.m.<br /><br />

</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The mill and overlay process involves first milling off the top of the pavement surface and then applying a layer of asphalt. This process provides a smooth driving surface that typically lasts for an additional six to 20 years with ongoing treatments.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Please refrain from parking your vehicles overnight on any streets with "no parking" signs. Any vehicle parked overnight in work areas is liable to be ticketed or towed. Downtown residents are reminded that free parking is available year-round in any City parking garage overnight between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. in both the hourly and permit sections. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Temporary street closures will be required. Traffic control signs and flaggers will be present to divert traffic around work zones as needed. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution in work zones and find alternate routes if possible.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Overnight maintenance on the listed streets is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, July 18, at 7 a.m., weather permitting. The exact timing of this work schedule is subject to change due to impacts from weather or other unforeseen factors. If any changes occur, Public Works will provide updates to residents via social media.</span></p></div>
