<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia Sewer Utility has scheduled a public information meeting to discuss a proposed sewer improvement project on Oakwood Court. The meeting will be held Wednesday, July 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on-site at the driveway of 1705 Oakwood Court.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Utility is proposing to replace the privately maintained sewer system for homeowners on Oakwood Court. The Utility will construct a public sanitary sewer system to serve these customers.</span></p>
<br />
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These proposed improvements are part of the Utility’s Private Common Collector Elimination Project, started in 2008. Private common collectors are major sources of inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewer system. By replacing the outdated, private sewers and connecting these properties into the publicly maintained sewer system, the City can reduce the occurrence of backups and overflows,</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to review preliminary plans, review diagram illustrations, ask questions, make comments and complete a public comment form. </span></p>
<br />
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Public comments will also be accepted online at BeHeard.CoMo.gov through Aug 25.</span></p>
