<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services Department (PHHS) Social Services unit is now providing services in the Mezzanine of City Hall. The Unit’s goal is to be available for the people it serves where it is most convenient for them. For example, being in City Hall offers a great opportunity for staff to connect with City Utilities customers needing utility assistance.<br /><br />At City Hall, the following social services are being offered:<br />
<ul>
<li>Utility assistance</li>
<li>Information and referral</li>
<li>Medication and medical supplies assistance</li>
<li>Medicaid for pregnant women, including temporary Medicaid.</li>
</ul>
Staff is not able to facilitate pregnancy testing at City Hall, but free pregnancy testing is available at our main PHHS location at 1005 W. Worley St. More information about the social services we provide can be found on the City's social services web page: <a href="https://www.como.gov/health/human-services/">CoMo.gov/health/human-services/</a><br /><br />PHHS accepts customers and referrals by phone at 573.817.6430 or email at SocialServices@CoMo.gov, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also accept walk-ins Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. At City Hall, walk-in customers can check in at the front desk.<br /><br />The provision of social services in City Hall is part of the City of Columbia's <a href="https://www.como.gov/strategic-plan/">strategic plan</a> priority inclusive community, which has the goal of cultivating a safe and sustainable community focusing on equitable access, inclusive engagement, equal opportunity and treatment, leading with race. The
objective is to ensure all members of the community experience equal opportunity and treatment in all interactions with City government.</div>
