<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs hosted the annual Celebration of the Arts fundraiser for the Columbia Arts Fund Aug. 23, at the Bistro at the Blufftop at Rocheport. The event was hosted by Aaron and Nikki Krawitz. At the event, the 2023 City of Columbia Commemorative Poster, designed by local artist Jenny McGee, was unveiled along with a special recognition made to an additional member of the arts community. <br /><br />Each year since 1992, the City of Columbia has produced an annual Commemorative Poster to communicate the vitality and beauty of Columbia. Artist Jenny McGee’s "Katy Trail State Park" mixed media was unveiled as this year’s Commemorative Poster. McGee is a mixed media artist, working primarily with paper. This year’s poster comes from the artist’s series celebrating local places and faces. These are art collages of the people, p
 laces and things that make the Midwest feel like home.  <br /><br />The 2023 poster is available for $20 each at the Convention and Visitors Bureau located in the Walton Building at 300 S. Providence Rd. Previous year’s posters are also available for $10 each. This year’s poster is sponsored by EquipmentShare and Miller’s Professional Imaging/MPIX. <br /><br />Since 2015, the City has also paid special recognition to a member of the arts community, a volunteer or staff member who has made a significant impact on one of the City’s funded arts organizations. Out of the many worthy submissions, the Office of Cultural Affairs was thrilled to recognize Jill Womack for her contributions to the arts with a presentation made by Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe. Womack retired as the Executive Artistic Director of Theater Reaching Young People & Schools (TRYPS) in 2022, an organization that she founded in 1999. TRYPS helps children become star
 s in their own lives and is committed to producing outstanding arts education and programming for central Missouri children, families and elementary schools.</div>
