<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Clerk’s Office is accepting applications for the appointment of the Ward 2 Council Member. Current Ward 2 Council Member Andrea Waner announced she will resign from her position effective Nov. 22, 2023. <br /><br />Applications must be completed and received by the city clerk at Columbia City Hall, 701 E. Broadway no later than 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, 2023. Applications received after 5 p.m. will not be accepted and mailing post-marked applications will not be accepted. A copy of the application is attached and is available on <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/uncategorized/city-of-columbia-accepting-applications-for-appointment-of-ward-2-council-member-seat-until-5-p-m-nov-13/">CoMo.gov</a>. Copies can also be obtained in the Clerk’s Office between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, not including City holiday
 s. <br /><br />The City Council will review applications and select a new Council member at a future date. <br /><br />Anyone interested in applying must be a qualified and registered voter of the city and a resident and qualified voter of Ward 2. In addition, the applicant cannot hold any other lucrative public office nor any lucrative position in the City government during their term as a Council Member.<br /><br />If appointed to the vacant position by a majority vote of the City Council, the individual will hold office until a successor is duly elected and qualified following the April 2024 Municipal Election.</div>
