<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - In partnership with the Boone County Overdose Response Coalition, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) will be hosting a Save a Life: Naloxone education and distribution event Thursday, Oct. 19 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Boone Hospital Center, 1600 E. Broadway. <br /><br />Parking to event attendees is available on William Street. Attendees should avoid parking in the Emergency Parking lot. <br /><br />After the event, PHHS staff will be present in the main lobby to provide information and brief training for individual walk-ins from 1 to 3 p.m. <br /><br />Save a Life is a series of monthly, free-to-the-public events that feature education and conversation around how members in the community can help to prevent opioid overdose deaths through the use of Naloxone, also known as NARCAN® (a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose). <br /><br />
 Both the formal and informal training will include recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose  and an explanation of how to use and access NARCAN® nasal spray, as well. <br /><br />Participants will receive a free box of NARCAN®. <br /><br />No registration is required.</div>
