<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Proposals and letters of intent from community organizations for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding are now available on BeHeardCoMo at <a href="https://beheard.como.gov/arpa">BeHeard.CoMo.gov/arpa</a>. <br /><br />The Columbia City Council voted to open the proposals for ARPA funds at the Oct. 16 City Council meeting. <br /><br />The City followed its normal request for proposal process for ARPA funding. Although the records would normally be closed, the Council made the determination to open the records following its adoption of the resolution of intent announcing the applicants selected for ARPA funding. The decision to open the records is reflective of the City's desire to ensure transparency in the process to the greatest extent possible.<br /><br />The City received $25.2 million in ARPA funding. In total, the City received 51 proposals totaling $31,593,304.86. The proposals we
 re evaluated by a mayoral-appointed and Council-approved ARPA committee. <br /><br />The following summarizes the funding recommendations by priority area:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Access to services - $1,325,000</li>
<li>Affordable housing - $8,600,000</li>
<li>Community violence - $2,170,000</li>
<li>Homelessness - $5,665,000</li>
<li>Mental health - $3,000,000</li>
<li>Workforce development - $2,449,961</li>
<li>Workforce support - $1,324,663</li>
<li>Capacity building - $750,000</li>
</ul></div>
