<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police arrest suspect in connection to homicide investigation in the 3200 block of Dove Drive, June 26</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police have arrested Ja’Shaun Barney, 18, of Columbia in connection to the murder of Deshon Joseph Houston that occurred June 26 in the 3200 block of Dove Drive. He was arrested for second-degree murder, armed criminal action and felony resisting arrest.</span></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Originating Incident</strong></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">At approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 26 officers responded to the 3200 block of Dove Drive for multiple reports of shots fired. Upon arriving at the scene officers located an adult male, later identified as Mr. Houston, 33, of Columbia with an apparent gunshot wound. He was determined to be deceased at the scene.</span></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A suspect vehicle was identified through the investigation and was later found wrecked in the 3800 block of West Gibbs Road. Witnesses reported seeing multiple subjects leave the scene.</span></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police later arrested Jajuan Crockett, 21; Damarkus Williams, 18; and Bryton Allen, 19, all of Columbia, in connection with this homicide investigation.</span></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Arrest of Ja’Shaun Barney and Alex Glay</strong></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Nov. 2 at approximately 10 p.m. CPD detectives saw Mr. Barney flee from them on foot in the area of the 5000 block of Clark Lane. He was able to gain access to a vehicle and fled from officers. </span></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit which led westbound on I-70. The suspect vehicle was disabled using spike strips,and the pursuit ended at Creasy Springs Road and Business Loop 70 West. Mr. Barney was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Boone County Jail. He was with Alex Glay, 25, the driver of the vehicle, who was charged with resisting arrest and hindering prosecution. </span></p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police are still actively searching for Alqueze Jones, 19; Deljuan Turner, 19; and Deazes Turner, 21, all of Columbia, in connection to Mr. Houston’s murder. This is an ongoing investigation. <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Community members should not approach these individuals as they are considered armed and dangerous. </span></p>
