(COLUMBIA, MO) -
The City of Columbia Stormwater Utility has scheduled a public information meeting to discuss a proposed stormwater improvement project on Bernadette Drive. The meeting will be held 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.

The Bernadette stormwater improvement project proposes to replace the existing stormwater inlet structures and pipes on Bernadette Drive between the Joe Machens dealership and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

Flooding occurs on Bernadette Drive because of limited inlet capacity and undersized pipes. The proposed project includes not only larger inlets and pipes, but also additional infrastructure to help with capacity. Hydraulic improvements on properties adjacent to the area are also being considered.

In order to avoid disruption during the Our Lady of Lourdes school session, the Utility would attempt to complete the construction in summer 2024.

During the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to review preliminary plans, ask questions, make comments and complete a public comment form.

Public comments will also be accepted online at BeHeard.CoMo.gov through Dec. 13.
