<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - A nine-member City of Columbia Public Works snowplow crew will report for duty at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, to respond to an anticipated winter weather event. The winter weather system is expected to arrive in Columbia between 9 p.m. and midnight. The primary focus of snowplow crews will be on using salt brine to pretreat curves, intersections and elevated surfaces such as bridges, which are the areas typically most susceptible to slickness.<br /><br />The primary concern will be slushy conditions for late night travelers. Drivers are advised to reduce speeds, refrain from tailgating and allow extra travel time for your trip. Roads are expected to become dry during daytime hours Sunday prior to air temperatures falling below freezing once again Sunday night.<br /><br />Snowplow crews are expected to end their winter weather response around 8 a.m. Sunday morning, but Public Works management will adj
 ust operational plans in case of worsening conditions. As winter weather can be unpredictable, residents are encouraged to closely monitor the forecast and changing road conditions throughout the mid-Missouri area.<br /><br />Additional updates, if necessary, will be made on the City's social media pages.</div>
