<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Road closure scheduled on West Boulevard beginning Nov. 29</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, Twehous Excavating Company, a contractor for the City of Columbia Sewer Utility, will close the northbound lane of West Boulevard between West Broadway and Sunset Lane. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Sewer Utility is replacing approximately 620 feet of sewer main and four sewer structures that will connect 14 customers to the City’s sewer main.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These proposed improvements are part of the Utility’s Private Common Collector Elimination project, started in 2008. Private common collectors are major sources of inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewer system. By replacing the outdated, private sewer and connecting these properties into the publicly maintained sewer, the City can reduce the occurrence of backups and overflows.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Traffic control signs will be present to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic near the closure.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The lane is scheduled to be reopened by Dec. 13, 2023, weather permitting.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise caution when in the work zone or find alternate routes.</span></p></div>
