<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police arrest suspect in homicide investigation, Dec. 9</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia Police arrested John Ionce Williamson III, 27, of Columbia, Dec. 9 in connection to a homicide that occurred Dec. 8. He was arrested for first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.<br /><br />At approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 8, officers responded to the 1500 block of Typhoon Court for a reported assault. Upon arrival officers found an adult female, later identified as Azairah Brownlee, 27, of Columbia, who had sustained apparent life-threatening injuries. <br /><br />Officers attempted life-saving measures until Ms. Brownlee could be transported by EMS to a local hospital. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries. Next of kin has been notified.<br /><br />Detectives with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division quickly identified Mr. Williamson as a person of interest in the investigation. <br /><br />Further investigation led to Mr. Wi
 lliamson being identified as the suspect. He was later located and arrested with the assistance of patrol officers and CPD’s Street Crimes Unit. <br /><br />This is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has information related to their location or regarding the incident, contact us at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477 to remain anonymous.<br /><br />
