<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">For the health and safety of our employees, the City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility has canceled residential curbside trash collections for Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The forecast for Tuesday calls for a high temperature in low single digits with wind chills below zero. Because extended exposure to these temperatures can be dangerous, the Solid Waste Utility has made the decision to cancel the residential curbside collection routes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monday residential curbside collection routes, which were already delayed because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, will not be collected next week. The Tuesday through Friday routes will be delayed by one day the remainder of the week - for example, Tuesday routes will be collected Wednesday. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Solid Waste will next collect the Monday routes Jan. 22. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Again, because of safety concerns during the cold weather, materials at the drop-off recycling centers will not be collected Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City apologies for the inconvenience.</span></p></div>
