<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City Clerk’s Office is accepting applications for the Food Council. The purpose of this new advisory council is to advise the City Council in matters pertaining to equitable and sustainable food systems.<br /><br />The advisory council will consist of nine members appointed by the City Council. Members shall demonstrate significant knowledge, interest or expertise in equitable food systems and policies. In making appointments, selection of members shall be made so as to encourage diverse representation of the socio-economic, geographic and demographic diversity of the community and shall include a cross-section of members who have an experience in education, health, food production, processing, distribution, retail and/or waste. Members shall serve without compensation, shall not be paid employees of the City, and shall not serve on the board of directors or be employed by any organizatio
n that applies for funding or receives funding or services upon recommendation of the Food Council. <br /><br />Applications can be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office or can be found on the City’s web site at <a href="https://www.como.gov/vacancies/">CoMo.gov/vacancies/</a>. Applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office, 701 E. Broadway, by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2.<br /><br />The City ordinance creating the Food Council may be viewed online at <a href="https://www.como.gov/boards/food-council/">CoMo.gov/boards/food-council/</a>.</div>
