<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Roll cart delivery begins Monday, Jan. 29</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility residential curbside collection customers will start receiving their roll carts this week.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rehrig Pacific, a vendor for the Solid Waste Utility, will begin cart delivery Monday, Jan. 29, 2024. Distribution will start with customers who receive collection service on Mondays. Once Monday customer routes have been completed, crews will then proceed to customers who receive collection service on Tuesdays, and so forth. City-wide distribution is expected to take approximately four weeks. Customers can view delivery schedule updates by downloading the CoMo Recycle and Trash app or following Columbia Recycle and & Trash on Facebook.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Even though carts are being delivered throughout February, the Solid Waste Utility would like to remind customers that automated collection of the new roll carts will not begin until Monday, March 4. Residents must continue placing trash bags at the curb for collection until the new service starts. Roll carts placed at the curb before then will not be emptied.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">An explanation of the new roll carts and automated collections will be included with your cart. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During distribution of the roll carts, Solid Waste collections staff will work with Rehrig Pacific to determine the most optimal placement of the cart for collection at each location. Crews will leave the carts in the spot where customers should leave them on collection day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If customers have concerns about placement of the carts in the designated location, they can call the Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489) to schedule a consultation with the collection crew.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Solid Waste Utility would like to remind customers that the carts are City property. The carts are not to be altered or decorated in any way. Carts are assigned to a specific address. The refuse carts will have barcodes so that a missing or stolen cart can be brought back to its assigned location.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Although collection days will not change, routes and times potentially could. The Solid Waste Utility recommends customers place their refuse carts at the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. on their collection day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City asks its residents to remain patient during the onset of the new collection process. As crews work to become acquainted with new routes and new machinery, completion of collection routes may take longer than normal.</span></p>
