<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia, MO - January 31, 2024 - The City of Columbia invites local community members who are interested in learning more about possible grant funding for Juneteenth events, exhibits or educational programs to a stakeholder meeting at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), located at 1701 West Ash St, on Tuesday, February 6, at 5 p.m. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Residents who are interested in planning an event commemorating and/or celebrating Juneteenth in 2024 and who are interested in learning more about grant funding from the City of Columbia are encouraged to attend.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia applied for and received grant funding from the Missouri Division of Tourism, which distributed funds to communities to support Juneteenth celebrations across the state. To administer the amount awarded to Columbia, the City Council appointed an evaluation committee and Mayor Barbara Buffaloe appointed Ward 3 Councilperson Roy Lovelady as the City Council liaison to that committee.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The stakeholder meeting on February 6 will include a presentation about the local application process for funds, including the evaluation criteria, reporting requirements, and a timeline for the process. </span></p>
