<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Mike Griggs, deputy city manager and former Parks and Recreation director of the City of Columbia will retire from the City April 12. <br /><br />During his time with the City, Griggs worked in the Parks and Recreation department for 35 years, including 10 years as the parks director. He was sworn in as deputy city manager and has served in that role for the past two years.<br /><br />"I’ve had a tremendous and enjoyable experience serving the citizens of Columbia these past 37 years. Any success I have achieved in my numerous City roles is directly attributed to my life-long association with the many outstanding public servants and partners that make up the City of Columbia," Griggs said. "Columbia is a phenomenal community and I have been blessed to have been able to raise my family here. I’m extremely optimistic about its future under City Manager De’Carlon 
 Seewood and am looking forward to watching the continued success and growth of the City."<br /><br />City Manager De’Carlon Seewood thanked Griggs for his 37 years of service. <br /><br />"Mike Griggs has had a successful career throughout his tenure with the City," Seewood said. "I appreciate his commitment and dedication he has modeled throughout his career. Mike is well-known throughout the community and among City employees for his hard work and dedication. He has shown that he is passionate about making our community a better place."</div>
