<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police respond to a verbal domestic with a weapon in the 3900 block of Clark Lane, Feb. 19</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Around 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 19, Columbia Police responded to a domestic disturbance with a weapon in the 3900 block of Clark Lane. On arrival, officers observed Robert E. Lee, 55, standing in the doorway of the residence. Lee retrieved a firearm and pointed it at officers. During this time, a female inside was able to safely leave. Lee then barricaded himself inside the residence.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Multiple resources were called to the scene to help resolve the situation, including the Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team, the SWAT Team and paramedics. Crisis negotiators made continuous efforts to persuade Lee to exit the residence unarmed. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Around 11:05 p.m., officers heard a single gunshot from inside the dwelling. After several ineffective attempts to make contact with Lee, officers made entry and found Lee deceased due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Next of kin has been notified. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.</span></p>
