<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Finance department has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Excellence in Financial Reporting certificate for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year 2022. <br /><br />The report was judged by a panel and met the program's standards, which include demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. <br /><br />This certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This is the 43rd year in a row that the City of Columbia has received the award.<br /><br />"Receiving this accolade for over four decades is a remarkable milestone that reflects the dedication and expertise of our Accounting division and our Finance department as a whole," Director of Finance Mat
 thew Lue said. "We take great pride in consistently delivering comprehensive and reliable financial information to our stakeholders, fostering trust and confidence in our organization."<br /><br />You can find the fiscal year 2022 annual budget report on the City’s website at CoMo.gov/finance/accounting/financial-reports/.<br /><br />The Government Finance Officers Association was founded in 1906 and represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. The association's more than 20,000 members are federal, state/provincial and local finance officials deeply involved in planning, financing and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions.</div>
