<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Commission on Human Rights invites Columbia residents to a community conversation about personal experiences with local discrimination from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 9 in the Friends Room at the Columbia Public Library, 100 W. Broadway. <br /><br />In acknowledgment and celebration of the 75 years of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the purpose of this event is to discuss the needs of Columbia residents regarding human rights.<br /><br />"The commission believes that hearing from members of the community is the cornerstone for further advocacy and accountability," said Amanda Hinnant, chair of the Commission on Human Rights. "We are interested in hearing your experiences with discrimination in the City."<br /><br />The commission hopes to identify areas for future engagement and advocacy, and to remind Columbia residents t
hat human rights are non-negotiable and should always be prioritized. <br /><br />Coffee and cookies will be provided.</div>
