<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Public Works department has scheduled an informal open house meeting concerning the development of a Municipal Services Center, which will enhance services provided by the City, allowing operations to occur in closer proximity to a greater portion of the City's residents. The meeting will be held Wednesday, March 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mill Creek Elementary School, 2200 W. Nifong Blvd.<br /><br />The proposed site for the Municipal Services Center is on Sinclair Street, located just south of Mill Creek Elementary School. The Municipal Services Center master concept plan includes a salt storage building, storage for snowplows and salt distribution equipment, vehicle parking, an office, electric vehicle charging stations and a refueling facility.<br /><br />The planned Municipal Services Center will help to reduce existing winter weather response times, which can reach up to 2 1/
 2 hours due to having only a single salt storage facility. The design concept includes an emphasis on increasing renewable energy installations, reflecting the City's commitment to reducing energy usage throughout its buildings.<br /><br />At the open house, information and diagrams showing the design concepts will be available for public review, City staff will be present to answer questions and a public comment form will be available if you have any comments for the City to consider. More information on the proposed designs can also be found online at <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://beheard.como.gov/municipal-services-center">BeHeard.CoMo.gov/Municipal-Services-Center</a>. Comments will be accepted on the website through March 20 and will be considered as the designs are developed.<br /><br /><em>Members of the public may attend any open meeting. For requests for accommodations related to disability, please call 573.874.CITY (2489) or email City@CoMo.gov. In ord
