<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia’s Tree Board has received a community forestry grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation in the amount of $10,011. The City’s local match is $910 with $240 of donated labor by the Tree Board.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With this grant, the Tree Board, partnered with the Ridgeway Neighborhood Association, plans to conduct a tree planting project. This project is intended to make improvements to an existing tree preservation area on City property near the intersection of Garth Avenue and Sexton Road. This area was chosen specifically in anticipation of the loss of greenspace associated with the Columbia Housing Authority’s Kinney Point affordable housing development northeast of the property.</span></p></div>
