<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 3300 block of Premier Lane around 8:50 p.m. on April 12.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers arrived at the scene and discovered Derek Silvey, 18, of Columbia, with gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical assistance until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services. Silvey was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The department’s Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate the incident. The Columbia Police Department would like to thank the Missouri State Highway Patrol for providing assistance. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.</span></p>
