<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - From June 18 to 21, Logan Excavating, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works department, will perform sidewalk curb ramp work at the following downtown intersections, weather permitting: <br /><br /><strong>June 18</strong><br /><br />
<ul>
<li>South Sixth Street and Cherry Street</li>
</ul>
<strong>June 19-21</strong><br /><br />
<ul>
<li>North Tenth Street and East Walnut Street</li>
<li>East Broadway and Waugh Street</li>
</ul>
A <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/CMS/pressreleases/view.php?id=8827">previous press release</a> had stated that work at North Tenth Street and East Walnut Street would take place between June 10 and 18, but work at that intersection has now been postponed to June 19-21.<br /><br />If crews are unable to complete curb ramp repairs at these intersections as planned due to weather or other factors, work will continue during the week of June 24.<br /><br />Signs and barricades will be placed near the affected areas to inform pedestrians and guide them safely around the construction zones.<br /><br />These sidewalk ramp closures are part of a larger initiative to repair sidewalk curb ramps at 16 downtown intersections. These improvements are essential for ensuring accessibility for individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and anyone else who may find navigating curbs challenging.<br /><br />The total contracted cost for replacing the curb ramps a
 t all 16 intersections is $229,421.88, funded by the 2015 Capital Improvement Sales Tax extension. This project demonstrates the City's commitment to maintaining an inclusive and accessible downtown area for all residents and visitors.</div>
