<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Fire Department responds to a large outside fire, July 21</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Sunday, July 21 at 2:09 a.m., the Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to respond to a large outside fire at 106 Orr Street.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The first crew arrived in three minutes to find a small fire next to a building. The call was then upgraded to a First Alarm.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The crews found fire extension into the building and smoke in the structure. Crews were able to extinguish the fire in under five minutes. Nine Columbia Fire units, comprising 18 personnel, responded to this incident. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fire crews remained on the scene for several hours to assist fire investigators and also to ensure there were no areas of hidden fire remaining.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia fire marshals are continuing an origin and cause investigation. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia Fire Department reminds residents that smoke alarms save lives. Smoke alarms should be placed on the ceiling (or on a wall no closer than four inches from the ceiling) on every level of your home and outside of places where people sleep. Check your smoke alarms monthly by pressing the test button. Change your smoke alarm batteries at least twice per year when adjusting your clocks for Daylight Saving Time. Replace any smoke alarm over 10 years old.</span></p></div>
