<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><em>Correction: This update has the correct city of Broomfield, Colorado. </em><br /><br />At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 5, Columbia Police responded to a crash on Interstate 70 west of the Business Loop 70 exit involving multiple vehicles including a tractor-trailer driven by Walter J. Montejo, 26, of South Gate, California, and a U-Haul rental truck driven by Cindy Helms, 54, of Rockwood, Tennessee.</span></p>
<p>Helms was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she died of injuries sustained in the crash. A passenger in the U-Haul, Melvina M. Colin, 84, of Broomfield, Colorado, died at the scene. Both were wearing seat belts. Next of kin for both Helms and Colin have been notified.  </p>
<p>Montejo was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with moderate injuries sustained in the crash.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.</span></p>
