<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Pavement maintenance scheduled for various City streets Aug. 19-30</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Starting Monday, Aug. 19, City of Columbia Public Works Street division crews will begin pavement resurfacing work on nine city roads. <br /><br />Temporary lane closures will be necessary while this work is underway. Below is a list of streets scheduled for maintenance:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Westwinds Drive from West Boulevard South to the west end of the street</li>
<li>Hill Haven Lane from Mexico Gravel Road to the north end of the street</li>
<li>East Saint Charles Road from North Keene Street to East Richland Road</li>
<li>Dorado Drive East from Saint Charles Road to the north end of the street</li>
<li>Jenne Lane from Brown Station Road to the dead end on the east end of the street</li>
<li>Rolling Hills Road from Discovery Parkway to the bridge over Gans Creek</li>
<li>Fair Lane from Rice Road to the south end of the street</li>
<li>Business Loop 70 West from MO-740 (North Stadium Boulevard) to the top of the hill (near the Extended Stay America)</li>
<li>North Creasy Springs Road from West Prairieview Drive to West Obermiller Road</li>
</ul>
Additionally, Lionmark Contracting, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works department, will perform pavement maintenance on 11 city streets starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, weather permitting.<br /><br />The contractor will be applying Onyx surface treatment, a quick-drying asphalt and pavement sealing solution, to streets that have recently undergone chip seal maintenance. Onyx is a blend of liquid asphalt, fine aggregates, recycled materials and bonding agents, designed to extend the lifespan of roadways.<br /><br />Temporary lane closures will be necessary until the product has been fully absorbed into the asphalt. The streets slated for Onyx surface treatment include:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>East Richland Road from East Saint Charles Road to South Rolling Hills Road</li>
<li>Clark Lane from Paris Road to the Hinkson Creek Bridge</li>
<li>East New Haven Road from the New Haven Elementary School to South Rolling Hills Road</li>
<li>East Saint Charles Road from North Grace Lane to East Richland Road</li>
<li>Brown Station Road from East Starke Avenue to Route B</li>
<li>Waco Road from Brown Station Road to the west end of the street</li>
<li>Skyview Road from Brown Station Road to Greenridge Road</li>
<li>Bearfield Road from East Nifong Boulevard to the City limit line</li>
<li>South Rustic Road from the Dead end to Legion Lane</li>
<li>Bethel Street from Dustin Drive to East Old Plank Road</li>
<li>Lake Valley Lane from West Southampton Drive to the south end of the street</li>
</ul>
Both City of Columbia crews and contractor crews plan to work daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Traffic control signs and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through work zones as needed. <br /><br />Motorists and pedestrians should use caution in work zones and find alternate routes if possible. Residents are reminded to avoid parking on any streets scheduled for maintenance during work hours. For streets that typically allow parking, 'no parking' signs will be posted at least 24 hours before work begins.<br /><br />All pavement maintenance is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, weather permitting.</div>
