<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Public Works department has scheduled a second informal open house to discuss traffic calming measures on East Walnut Street east of Old Highway 63, where traffic has been identified as operating at speeds higher than desirable. This meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Conference Room 1A of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.<br /><br />At the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to review information and diagrams of preliminary traffic calming concepts. These preliminary plans, attached to this press release and available on the <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="http://BeHeard.CoMo.gov/East-Walnut-traffic-calming">BeHeardCoMo</a> website, propose the construction of six new speed humps on East Walnut Street. These new speed humps would be in addition to the two already in place.<br /><br />City engineering staff will be available to answer questions, a
nd public comment forms will be provided.
