<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Update: Columbia Police arrest suspect in Columbia prowler cases dating back to 2020, Oct. 18</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police arrested Guillermo Hernandez-Vasquez, 33, of Columbia, on Oct. 18 on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, forgery, second-degree property damage and first-degree trespassing. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia Police Department conducted a traffic stop on June 22, resulting in the issuance of a summons to Hernandez-Vasquez. Due to the nature of the summons, the court ordered him to provide fingerprints.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Oct. 16, the Missouri State Highway Patrol lab contacted Columbia police and reported a fingerprint match linking Hernandez-Vasquez to several department cases dating back to 2020. Officers had collected fingerprints from previous crime scenes, which were analyzed by the lab. Investigators then connected him to additional cases through further investigation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"Incidents such as these are very concerning to both police and the public. I am thankful for the hard work and diligence of our staff in bringing this case to a resolution. This case is an outstanding example of what thorough, detail-oriented policing can accomplish through the perseverance and dedication of our officers," said Chief of Police Jill Schlude. </span></p>
