(COLUMBIA, MO) - Go COMO, Columbia's transit provider, is announcing its adoption of the SPOT app, a product of ETA Transit. This free app is now available for riders to download and use to track Go COMO buses in real time, as well as to view schedules and receive service alerts.

Go COMO currently uses the DoubleMap app, provided by TransLoc, for these services. Because TransLoc is ending support for DoubleMap nationwide Dec. 31, Go COMO has made the decision to use ETA SPOT to replace it.

Go COMO will continue to offer DoubleMap app services until Dec. 31, giving riders two months to make the switch. We encourage all riders to download and familiarize themselves with the ETA SPOT app before Dec. 31, when Go COMO will end use of DoubleMap.

Throughout November and December, Go COMO will make multiple announcements
to inform riders about the ETA SPOT app. Information will be shared via signs posted at the Wabash Bus Station, inside buses and in bus shelters. Announcements will also be made in the DoubleMap app, via RAVE text alerts and through messages posted to GoCOMOTransit.com and Go COMO social media. In addition, all bus stop signs are being updated to include information about ETA SPOT.

ETA SPOT is available for download on Google Play at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.etatransit and the App Store at apps.apple.com/us/app/eta-spot/id1021211544.

The SPOT app offers riders a more modern, streamlined experience, including:

Improved navigation: More accurate arrival times and detailed bus stop information.

More visible alerts: Service alerts appear on ETA SPOT's main screen. In DoubleMap, announcements are found behind a separate menu.

Quality-of-life improvements: Future updates will include photos of individual bus stops, information about nearby attractions and push notifications sent directly to your phone.

Map options: Riders can choose between standard street maps or satellite views.

Go COMO reminds riders that like the app, our transit services remain free to use. For more information on Go COMO transit, visit GoCOMOTransit.com.
