<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Interested parties meeting for Vandiver Drive and for Oakland Gravel Road sidewalk improvement projects to be held Dec. 11</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Public Works department has scheduled an informal open house meeting concerning the Vandiver Drive sidewalk improvement project and the Oakland Gravel Road sidewalk improvement project. This meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Oakland Middle School, 3405 Oakland Place. <br /><br />The purpose of this meeting is to present design concepts for two planned sidewalk projects, one on Vandiver Drive and one on Oakland Gravel Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2026. <br /><br />The project details are as follows:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li><strong>Vandiver Drive:</strong> A 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk will be constructed along the south side of Vandiver Drive, bridging the gap between the Parker Street roundabout and the intersection at Oakland Gravel Road. This project also includes a new pedestrian crossing on Vandiver Drive, connecting to the sidewalk on Oakland Gravel Road.</li>
<li><strong>Oakland Gravel Road:</strong> A 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk will be constructed along the west side of Oakland Gravel Road, filling in sidewalk gaps between Blue Ridge Road and Smiley Lane.</li>

This open house-style meeting will feature displays illustrating the proposed improvements, with City staff and team members from McClure Engineering on hand to answer questions. Public comment forms will be available at the meeting. Residents may also leave comments and view more information at <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://beheard.como.gov/Northeast-sidewalk-projects">BeHeard.CoMo.gov/Northeast-sidewalk-projects</a>. Comments will be accepted on the BeHeardCoMo page through Dec. 26 and will be considered as the designs are developed.<br /><br /><em>Members of the public may attend any open meeting. For requests for accommodations related to disability, please call 573.874.CITY (2489) or email City@CoMo.gov. In order to assist staff in making the appropriate arrangements for your accommodation, please make your request as far in advance of the posted meeting date as possible.</em></div>
