<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">SAVE-A-LIFE: naloxone education and distribution event hosted at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - In partnership with the Boone County Overdose Response Coalition and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS), Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 1701 Smiley Lane will host a SAVE-A-LIFE: a naloxone (also known as Narcan®) education and distribution event from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14.<br /><br />Following the event, PHHS staff will be present to provide information and brief training for individuals who cannot be at the formal presentation. Both the formal and informal training will include recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose and an explanation of how to use and access naloxone nasal spray.<br /><br />SAVE-A-LIFE is a series of monthly, free-to-the-public events that feature education and conversations around how members in the community can help to prevent opioid overdose deaths through the use of naloxone nasal spray (a drug that can reverse the effec
ts of an opioid overdose).<br /><br />No registration is necessary. A personal supply of naloxone will be available to all attendees. For more information contact Heather Harlan, Heather.Harlan@Como.gov or 573.817.6404.<br /><br />
