<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia is continuing to monitor and respond to winter weather. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory which is in effect until 6 p.m. <br /><br />Updates will be posted on the City's various social media accounts. Information and updates are also available at <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/important-notice-bar/winter-storm-information/">CoMo.gov</a>.<br /><br /><br /><strong>City of Columbia Public Works</strong><br /><strong>Contact: <em>John Ogan, John.Ogan@CoMo.gov</em></strong><br /><br />A 22-person City of Columbia Public Works snowplow crew began their shift at 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, relieving the overnight team that has been responding to winter weather conditions. Crews will continue focusing on keeping first, second and third priority routes passable.<br /><br />We urge everyone to avoid non-essential travel du
ring any active winter weather event. To stay safe on the road:<br /><br />

<li>Increase stopping distances</li>
<li>Avoid sudden braking or acceleration</li>
<li>Maintain safe following distances</li>
</ul>
<br /><br /><strong>Go COMO Transit</strong><br /><strong>Contact: <em>John Ogan, John.Ogan@CoMo.gov</em></strong><br /><br />Go COMO fixed-route bus service is making every effort to operate as scheduled Friday, Jan. 10. Riders are encouraged to use the ETA SPOT app to track the real-time location of their bus and receive service updates. Notifications will also be shared through the <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=COMOALERT">Alerts.CoMo.gov</a> system, available via text, email or voice call.<br /><br />Paratransit services will operate on a case-by-case basis. Customers will be contacted directly if there are issues accessing their homes. Paratransit riders should exercise caution when traveling to bus stops or pickup points, as paths may be icy or snow-covered.<br /><br />The CMSE van service has been canceled for the morning of Friday, Jan. 10.<br /><br /><br /><strong>City of Columbia Utilities</strong><br /><stron
g>Contact: <em>Jason West, Jason.West@CoMo.gov</em></strong><br /><br />Solid Waste is running Friday curbside refuse and recycling routes as scheduled. Crews will be collecting as much as weather and conditions permit.<br /><br />Monday curbside refuse routes that were impacted by the weather will be collected Saturday, Jan. 11. Recycling will not be collected.<br /><br />Collection crews will continue to respond to missed collections. If your refuse did not get picked up as scheduled, please let us know by reporting it to the Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489) or online at <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/city-managers-office/report-an-issue/">CoMo.gov/city-managers-office/report-an-issue</a>.<br /><br />To help ensure that trash collection and snow removal can take place efficiently, please follow these guidelines on roll cart placement: <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/city-source/december-2024/roll-cart-placement-winter-

However, due to changing conditions, it is recommended to check with the location before going. <br /><br />Road conditions may impact Animal Control response times. If it is safe, please hold on to loose dogs until Animal Control can arrive.</div>
