<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia has hired Paul Eisenstein as the next Economic Development director and Regional Economic Development Inc. (REDI) president. He will begin in the role March 10. <br /><br />"Eisenstein’s relevant experience in economic development in Missouri will provide valuable insight into attracting new investments to Columbia, creating job opportunities and diversifying our local economy," said City Manager De’Carlon Seewood. <br /><br />Eisenstein has worked at the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) since 2017. He has served as the senior director of operations since September 2023, previously having worked as director of DED’s strategy and performance division as well as in other leadership and project management roles.<br /><br />Before working at DED, Eisenstein worked at the Y Scouts executive search firm in Phoenix, Arizona, as a leadership
search consultant. Prior to that, he worked in a variety of roles in the nonprofit sector in St. Louis and San Francisco, including The Mission Continues, Big Brothers Big Sisters and AmeriCorps.<br /><br />Eisenstein's education includes a graduate certificate in public policy from the University of Missouri, an executive master of business administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor of arts in urban affairs from Saint Louis University.<br /><br />"Columbia is a thriving community with so many assets and opportunities for the families and individuals who live and work here," said Eisenstein. "I am excited to step into this role, partner with stakeholders, and help ensure a vibrant economic future for Columbia and all of Boone County."</div>
