<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Fire Department responds to a statewide mutual-aid mobilization in Rolla, March 14</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Friday, March 14, the Columbia Fire Department (CFD) responded to a statewide mutual-aid request to support the Rolla Fire Department through the state's mobilization plan. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Engine 2 and Assistant Chief Lester Shewmake were deployed at 9:30 p.m. to assist with the damage caused by a tornado. CFD Firefighters teamed up with others from around the region to perform large area searches by foot in neighborhoods that were decimated by the tornado. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Firefighters went house to house, neighborhood by neighborhood, searching in rubble and throughout downed trees and debris to locate missing or injured community members.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After completing the initial searches, the command team from Rolla released CFD resources at 1 a.m., and the firefighters returned safely to Columbia at 3 a.m., March 15. </span></p></div>
