<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police respond to shooting at Cosmopolitan Park, April 12</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">At about 10:30 p.m. April 12, Columbia Police responded to shots fired calls at Cosmopolitan Park in the 1600 block of Business Loop 70 West.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Police officers found a woman and a man with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a local hospital. The man is in critical but stable condition, and the woman is in serious condition.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Police detectives are actively investigating the shooting, and there is no suspect in custody at this time. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Initial information obtained by investigators showed a large gathering including fraternity and sorority members from Columbia and Jefferson City who had congregated at the park. Although the park closes at midnight, preliminary inquiries indicate that the organizers had not secured shelter reservations via the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia Police Department is grateful for the assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, University of Missouri Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s Office </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">and the Ashland Police Department during this incident.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652. To provide information without leaving your name or number, call CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477. If you provide information to Crimestoppers that leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. </span></p>
