<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Following up on a shoplifting incident that occurred in April on North Stadium Boulevard, Columbia Police Property Crimes detectives identified Damon Lasha Thompson, Jr., 24, of Columbia as the suspect. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During a May 8 traffic stop by the Columbia Police Street Crimes Unit, detectives found evidence linking Thompson to drug distribution. A subsequent search warrant at his residence uncovered additional evidence of illegal drug activity and firearms violations.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Detectives arrested Thompson on charges of distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, delivery of marijuana and drug trafficking. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652. To provide information without leaving your name or number, call CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477. If you provide information to Crimestoppers that leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. </span></p>
