<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, the Columbia Fire Department will conduct training exercises at the Fifth and Walnut Parking Garage. The scheduled training dates include:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Tuesday, May 27</li>
<li>Thursday, May 29</li>
<li>Thursday, June 5</li>
</ul>
Three groups will take part in the exercises, with sessions scheduled each of those days at 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The training will not be open to the public or media.<br /><br />These exercises are part of the Fire Department's ongoing efforts to ensure personnel are familiar with multi-story structures and prepared to respond quickly in real emergency situations. Training scenarios will be realistic and may include uniformed personnel, emergency vehicles, hoses and other equipment activity throughout the day.<br /><br />During training, the stairwell on the west side of the garage will be closed to the public. All other areas of the garage will remain open and accessible.<br /><br />The City of Columbia Public Works department is working closely with the Columbia Fire Department to ensure garage operations remain safe and convenient for the public during the training.</div>
