<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia has announced the three finalists for the director of the City's Community Development department. Information about each candidate is listed below:<br /><br /><strong>Kerwin Jensen</strong><br />Kerwin Jensen has more than 20 years of experience as a department head managing personnel and programs such as land use planning, building permits, economic development, federal grants, capital improvement plans and more.<br /><br />He most recently worked as development services director for the City of Richland, Washington, from 2015 to 2024. His previous roles include community development director for the City of Montrose, Colorado; community development director for Summit County, Utah; and planning director for Billings, Montana.<br /><br />Jensen's education includes a master's degree in geography with an emphasis in resource management from Brigham Young University. <br /><br 
 /><strong>Clinton Smith</strong><br />Clinton Smith has worked in community development for 17 years. He has worked as the director of Planning and Protective Services for Jefferson City since 2023.<br /><br />His prior previous roles include senior planner at the City of Columbia; community planner with the City of Naperville, Illinois; and community planner for the Village of Oswego, Illinois.<br /><br />Smith's education includes a master's degree in community planning from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners.<br /><br /><strong>Peter R. Wysocki</strong><br />Peter R. Wysocki has over 31 years of experience working in local government, including 24 years working as a director of planning and community development departments. <br /><br />He has worked as an assistant city manager/chief development officer for the City of Evans, Colorado, since 2024. His previous roles include director of community d
 evelopment for the City of Evans, Colorado; director of planning and community development for the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and director of planning and development services for the City of Round Rock, Texas.<br /><br />His education includes a bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning from the California Polytechnic University. He is also a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners.</div>
