(COLUMBIA, MO) - Due to weather concerns, Capital Paving, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works Street division, will now begin overnight mill and overlay pavement maintenance at 5 p.m. Monday, July 21.

A previous press release had listed a start date of July 17.

Mill and overlay involves grinding off the top layer of old pavement and applying a fresh layer of asphalt. Once the new surface is in place, crews will return to add fresh striping.

Work is scheduled to begin in the campus area and progress north. This overnight project is expected to take approximately three weeks, followed by a second phase covering a different set of streets. The list of phase two streets is expected to be published in late July or early August.

List of streets
<br
