<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Downtown City parking garages offer free overnight parking during pavement maintenance</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - To make it easier for drivers to exit parking garages during overnight pavement maintenance work, exit gate arms in all six <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/public-works/parking/parking-garages/">City parking garages</a> will remain raised during overnight hours. Entry gates will continue operating as normal and drivers are still asked to take an entry ticket. This ensures a smoother exit process if they leave during hours when gate arms return to normal operation.<br /><br />Street resurfacing is ongoing from July 21 through Aug. 4, with work hours running from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. Drivers should avoid parking on streets marked with "No Parking" signs during those hours. Vehicles parked in signed areas during work hours may be ticketed or towed.<br /><br />Capital Paving, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works Street division, began work on campus and is moving north
through downtown. Milling is taking place during the week of July 21, with additional milling north of Broadway expected to begin July 28. Asphalt overlay work has already begun in areas that have been milled, with some blocks now fully resurfaced. Striping is to take place at a later date.<br /><br />Columbia Public Works would like to remind the public that parking in City-owned downtown parking garages is always free from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. This includes both ‘hourly' and ‘permit' parking spaces. Drivers are asked to always avoid any space marked as reserved or restricted.<br /><br />A second phase of resurfacing work outside the downtown and campus area will occur upon completion of this phase. A full list of streets will be announced in August.<br /><br />Temporary lane closures may be necessary during the project. Flaggers and traffic control signs will guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around work zones. Please use cau
